I will stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making massive earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the customary stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
